A straggling and twining climbing shrub or vine with a diverse range of habitats. The smooth, green branches produce simple, opposite, smooth leaves and tubular yellowish/orange flowers appear in late spring. Orange berries appear later in the summer. Flowers (sunny locations) attract hummingbirds and butterflies. The herb has been used for lung problems.
