    Carex gracillima

A deciduous, perennial sedge native to woodlands, forest edges, open grasslands, swamps, and marshes. It starts blooming in April and continues through July, and prefers shade and spring sun. The best soil type for it is loam, but it can also tolerate dry to moist conditions and benefits from humus enrichment.

Growing up to 1m tall, it boasts dark green leaves and seed clusters that hang from the arching stems. A great sedge for adding texture and interest to spring gardens.
