    Carex crinita

A deciduous perennial sedge that thrives in moist conditions, preferring shade and soils that are either clay or sandy and moist to wet. This wetland species is commonly found in swamps, lakeshores, wet meadows, or moist woodland settings such as vernal pools.

This sedge is visually striking, with green spikelets reaching 1m in height and showy seed clusters between May and July. Great for mass planting, it forms large circular clumps, stabilizes soil, and prevents erosion.
