Aralia racemosa


This tall woodland plant bears clusters of greenish-white flowers on branching stems with large, heart-shaped leaflets. Fruit is a dark purple berry. Noted for its aromatic root, it has been used as a treatment for asthma, rheumatism, coughs and wounds.
