Wood Poppy

Stylophorum diphyllum 

 

Is found in humus enriched soils in part shade to full shade. Will reproduce easily by self-seeding in proper growing conditions. In Ontario, Stylophorum diphyllum is found in rich mixed deciduous woodlands, forested ravines and slopes, as well as along wooded stream banks.Plants will go dormant in early summer if soils dry out.

 

Endangered and rare in Ontario, nursery propagated only.
