Silky Dogwood (Cornus obliqua) is a multi-stemmed deciduous shrub recognized for its vibrant stems and clusters of creamy white flowers. This adaptable shrub produces flat-topped clusters of flowers that attract pollinators in the spring and blue to bluish-black berries in the fall that are enjoyed by birds and other wildlife. The shrub's leaves turn a rich burgundy in autumn, adding seasonal interest. Silky Dogwood thrives in moist to wet soils and is often found in wetlands, along stream banks, and in low-lying areas. Its dense root system helps stabilize soil, making it an excellent choice for erosion control and habitat restoration.
